A self-help support group is comprised of individuals experiencing a common problem or life situation who gather together on a regular basis to share their experiences, hopes and strengths to help each other overcome or cope with their problem. Mutual help – members helping members – is the core strategy. These groups are voluntary and generally free, although they may “pass the hat” to cover their operating expenses. Self-help support groups are not professionally-run therapy groups, but can be a beneficial supplement to professional services.

Please note that the information contained in this database is subject to last-minute changes by the organizers of each group. We suggest that you call the group contact to confirm the dates and times of the meetings and if you have any additional questions.
